My Heart Will Go On....

So I came home from work yesterday afternoon to a familiar song...from 1998. Yes, my friends, a Celine Dion classic was playing on the television set that my husband was watching. He, the most manly man ever who wouldn't even come near to admitting he has a "soft side" was knowingly watching Titanic. He had actually taken the video (and I'm talking VHS video) out of the cabinet and had watched it all afternoon--when I got home, the boat was sinking.

Ah...a good chuckle every time I think about it...

Moving on to some random thoughts-

The pellet stove broke. Jesse's got it figured out--something electrical--but we're waiting on the part. So, WE Energies is back in business for a few days. We're so very thankful we have the furnace back-up because it's been FREEZING here in these parts the past few days. I ran outside to start my car this morning and my hair froze. Sometimes I wish it would stay that way because it's actually kinda cute in a wet dog sort of way...and word to the wise--frozen hair doesn't get frizzy!

Last weekend I went to our famous family gathering--"Zimmerama". Elliot and I went up to Neenah (Jesse was driving limo) and hung out with my awesome family. They are great people. I'm not just saying that because they're my family. Every one of them has a characteristic that I love. I love that Lauren is Martha Stewart times 900 in the knitting category-man, that girl can knit! I love that Erin is fluent in Spanish and throws a few words into conversations all the time...not sure if she knows she's doing it or not, but it's cool. I love that James is still very involved in family gatherings, even though I'm sure it's extremely difficult since Yo died. I love that Del gives me 3 kisses on the cheek every time I see him. And yes, I love that the Mueller's still call me "Messy".

That's all for now. I'm sure there's more, but I'm sleepy and ready for bed.

A picture. A good picture. A freaking awesome picture.

So I'm feeling the need for a picture to spice up my blog a bit. Yes, I should be showering you with pictures of my kid...and believe me I have many.

But no, folks. Tonight you are getting a photo of another something that's very near and dear to my heart.

I give to you....

My other 2 boys. Mr JY and Mr. Tommy Shaw. (a photo that I took, mind you :)

Cole-that's for you too!!

So I went to the doctor today. For no other reason than about 5 months ago I started having some breathing problems at night. Went to the doc and was diagnosed with asthma--and they suggested I see and allergist to see what was causing the asthma.

Today was my appointment with Dr. Bari, an Indian man that was very hard to understand. I was there for 3 hours. Yes my friends, 3 hours.

I was pricked 36 times and it was determined I am allergic to pretty much everything. Trees, ragweed, dust, cats, dogs, feathers, weeds just to name a few. Funny how I never knew this about myself.

I left the doctor's office with what appeared to be a shopping bag full of goodies. I feel like a frickin drugstore. I was given an inhaler, 2 things of nasal spray, 6 packets of Singulair and a breathing tester. What the heck? I'm not even sick! Ug...this is absurd in my opinion and I told the doctor that...but he said if I'd like the nights of wheezing and not being able to breathe to go away, I need to take this crap. Damn. The price to pay to be able to breathe.

And on to other things...

Elliot fell last night. He tripped on a toy and smacked his head into a wooden bench. He cried for but 10 seconds and was fine, but now he's got a nice mark right in between his eyes that looks like a number "7". Poor kid. I figure this is the start of many bumps and bruises--the way this kid climbs on top of everything, I'm actually shocked this is the first "ouchie".

The pellet stove is working good. The house is sticking around the 68-69 degree mark and we're pleased. I can't wait to get our next energy bill!! (Sorry to my friend (you know how you are) that works at WE Energies--you may be out of a job! LOL)

Hmm...so I guess I lead a pretty boring life--I really have not much else to say.

So, I will sign off for today. I should try to get some more work done considering I took off of work to go to the doctor and was there for 3 HOURS. Ug again.

PS-I've got the fever...baby fever! Keep us in your prayers that we can do some baby dancing that could possibly produce another little noodle! :)

No iPod for me. :(

Whew. What a day.

For whatever reason, my days at work are either very very good or very very bad. An "okay" day is just not something I've seen lately. Today was the latter of the first sentence. As soon as I got one thing done, 4 more things were added to my list. yuck.

Anyway, enough about that.

I ended up not finding that "too good to be true but really is true" iPod. I stopped at Wally's at lunch today and drooled over the cute pink one behind the plexi-glass but decided that I could probably find somewhere more worth while to spend $150. I am trying like hell to talk myself into getting it but it's just not working. What is wrong with me!?!? It's like I've all of a sudden gotten a responsibility towards money. That's so unlike me. The old me would have gobbled that iPod up the second it came on the market...and now...now I actually think about my purchases before I move forward with them. Eek. I'm scaring me.

So alas, I am without an iPod. Woe is me.

Definitions of my code names

To all of you that I just sent the e-mail to giving you the link to my blog--here's a big fat WELCOME to ya! I need to make a couple things clear in my 2 already posted blogs and my future blogs:

"porkchop" = Elliot
"Stinky" = Jesse

Pellets. A good thing

So I really thought this blog thing would be something easily updated daily-ha! My freaking job has gotten in the way....again...

Anyway, not too much new in the land of cold days and icy roads. Yes, it has finally snowed here in Wisconsin. A few nights ago we got a couple inches--the first snowfall since sometime in early December I believe. I took a look at the temp outside just a few moments ago-8.2 degrees. Brrrrr.

We recently got a pellet stove. Figured the $700 a month energy bill was a little too much for our checkbook. So, WE Energies beware--there will be massive layoffs. We're not using gas anymore! The pellet stove is actually quite nice--it give a nice amount of heat (the house is warmer now than it was with the furnace running) and the ambiance is nice--though I still freak out when I see a flame out of the corner of my eye. That will take some getting used to. Elliot has been good with it and really has had no interest in walking near it-thank goodness.

Speaking of the porkchop, he's doing well. Apparently when Jesse picked him up at the neighbors house today, he said "Clancey Pants". Clancy is our neighbor's dog. We tried getting him to say it again tonight but to no success. The word tonight was "yeah". All night long. Ask him anything and his answer was "yeah". He seems to be growing into such a little man and I often wonder what on earth we did without him around. We must have been so boring. To those that thought we were, I apologize. It's amazing how such a little guy who can't say but a few words makes me so happy and makes me realize that this is what life is all about.

With that, I am off to search for a "too good to be true but really is true" online deal on an iPod. I tried making a deal with Jesse tonight that I would buy him a coffee on the way home if he would buy me an iPod. Seemed fair to me...

A New Year, a New....Year

So, it's 2007. I've been meaning to start a blog for some time and here I am. It's 8:36 in the morning and I'm sitting at my place of work (Maritime Insurance Group) thinking about all the freaking problems I should be dealing with and here I am typing about nothing that pertains to my job. Oh well. Sucks for them. I'm salaried, who gives a rats ass.

Nice way to start, huh?

Anyway, I'll bring this blog up to date with everything that's happened in my life in the past few years. On August 28, 1999 I met some guy on I43 near Sheboygan. This guy (we'll call him "Stinky" from here on out) would ultimately become my husband. (I still get freaked out when I say that word)

We got married on September 22, 2001, a mere 2 years after our funkdified meeting on the freeway. The wedding was a glorious day, full of friends, family and fun (and an open bar for the attendants which we later learned was not the best idea considering there were 40 double Captain and Coke's ordered--thank goodness I'm an only child and am admittedly spoiled--thanks mom for paying the bar bill that exceeded the free beer and free soda for over 200 guests!)

In late November of 2004 we learned that we were pregnant. I took a test, screamed, pooped my pants and then took about 12 more. I did take one of the digital ones and wrapped that up as an early Christmas present to Stinky--the one who hates to do anything early, especially open gifts. After much begging and pleading, he finally opened what appeared to him to be a Popsicle stick-and then saw the word "pregnant". It was a good moment.

We had Elliot on August 31 of 2005. I'll do a birth story later. It was an awesome pregnancy, a great labor and there is nothing on this Earth that is better than Elliot. He is kick ass. He's 16 months now and life with him gets better daily. He can some words now: mom, dad, Bob (for our neighbor), meow, no, nuk, and hi. We're working on words every day with him-I think he'll catch on quick.

That's all the time I have for today. I have some claims problems I need to get to and fix (it's now 3:19 pm. No, it didn't take me that long to write this--I've just been working all freaking day and dealing with crapola.)

Until next time...
